Loving Care Case Study
Loving Care Christian Academy is a daycare, pre-kindergarten, kindergarten, and preparatory school in Savanna la Mar, Jamaica. Over 120 students ranging from two months to twelve years old receive the solid foundation they need in an environment dedicated to “giving kids their best years while making learning fun.”
Ever since the pandemic hit, the school has been operating entirely online. The school’s ability to rely on FACTS Student Information System (SIS) and Learning Management System (LMS) has made all the difference in their transition to the new online model. Starting From Scratch
Prior to FACTS, Loving Care Christian Academy did not have a student information system. Since adopting FACTS SIS, school management has been amazed by its ability to ease administrative work. They use an array of features including child care management, billing, and the FACTS Family Portal.
“We use everything, and we use it comprehensively,” explained Kemar Christie, principal at Loving Care Christian Academy. While other schools in the are a continue to produce reports by hand, FACTS SIS makes report generation at Loving Care Christian Academy nearly instantaneous. “Something that would take other schools hours—or even days—to do, takes me five minutes,” said Christie.
Additionally, the ability to post bulletins and announcements via the Family Portal has improved the quality and timeliness of communication and eliminated printing costs.
Happy Parents, Happy Teachers
The shift to FACTS was well received by teachers and parents. “The teachers were extremely overjoyed when they got this. It relieves them of several administrative tasks,” explained Christie. Previously burdensome responsibilities like filing reports and organizing grades are now done seamlessly.
Parents are grateful for the ease with which they can access students’ information. The Family Portal keeps them apprised of grades as well as important school announcements. “Especially now with COVID, we have parents who are boasting to parents from other schools that now have to play catch up,” said Christie.
Support for Online Learning
Loving Care Christian Academy also appreciates FACTS for its LMS. It provides a reliable platform for teachers to post assignments and quizzes that students can access easily. The platform also has a “discussions” feature that has proven particularly useful for student collaboration in light of the new online model.
